DON'T CLEAN YOUR ROOM!

From time to time, guests will offer to help us clean up after their escape room run, wanting to help put everything back where it goes. While this is a VERY thoughtful and much-appreciated gesture, resetting an ESCAPE! Alaska Theme-Park-Quality Escape Room® is a very specific task, and our team has it down to a science. While we don’t need any help AFTER the game, there are a few things you can keep in mind DURING your time in the room that will help tremendously when it’s time to put it all back together; some of these will also help your team’s performance while on the clock.

  • If you unlock, unfasten, unzip, or in some way open something, leave it open and leave any locks unlocked. Anything you retrieved from that space will need to be put back when we reset.

  • Try not to set used props in an unusual or hidden place. Having to search for items can slow us down during reset.

  • Most items in our escape rooms are single-use, so once it has been of some benefit to you, put it aside. Some teams will choose an obvious, out-of-the-way spot to put the items they’ve already used. THIS is probably the most helpful thing you can do when it comes to making an easy reset for our team.

On more than a few occasions we’ve seen teams place used items on top of props that were still needed, and it was “out of sight, out of mind,” costing them time while they tried to figure out what was next. Having a spot to put those used props will really help prevent this oversight, and could shave valuable minutes off your end time!
